Kia Sonet to Make Its World Debut on 7th August

Kia’s newest crossover SUV called Sonet that was displayed as a concept at 2020 Auto Expo in New Delhi is all set to make its world debut. Just like Seltos, the all new Sonet will see its world premiere in India that is scheduled to take place on the 7th of August.

Ahead of its launch, Kia has released the official design sketches of the Sonet crossover SUV suggesting that the production version will continue to look much like the original concept. The exterior profile of the Sonet looks muscular and dynamic thanks to chunkier bumpers, slim LED headlamps with DRLs, blacked out wheel arches, roof rails, shiny alloys, inclined C-pillar with embedded spoiler and slim connected tail lamps.

The interior carries consistency with the bold-looking exterior. It gets unibody housing for the all-digital instrument cluster and the infotainment unit, which is inspired by the Seltos. Kia has confirmed that Sonet will come with a massive 10.25-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system, making it the biggest display in its segment.

The dashboard gets rectangular vertically oriented vents with silver embellishments on most parts of the interior. The Sonet will also offer the convenience of different drive and traction control modes. Plus the interior will feature mood lighting function too.

Kia Sonet is expected to come with 3 engine options – 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo-petrol, and 1.5L turbo-diesel. The transmission options on the Sonet will comprise of a 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT, and 7-speed DCT. Upon arrival, the Kia Sonet will take on against the likes of Hyundai Venue & Tata Nexon. Price is expected to start from around INR 8.0 lac (PKR 17.7 lac).
