Toyota has launched the new Urban Cruiser Taisor in India with prices starting at INR 7.73 lac. Based on the Suzuki Fronx, this is the 6th product under the Toyota-Maruti Suzuki collaboration in India which sees the two automakers sharing badge-engineered vehicles having mild cosmetic differences with each other.
The visual elements that set the new Taisor apart from its donor Fronx include a revised front grille, tweaked bumpers, new LED DRLs, and redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels. The taillamps also receive a nip and tuck, although they maintain the signature full-width light bar.

Inside, there is a dual-tone brown and black upholstery and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity that takes center stage on the facia. Other features include automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, and a wireless charging pad.
Under the hood, the Toyota Taisor is offered a choice of two petrol powerplants: a naturally aspirated 1.2L four-cylinder unit or a turbocharged 1.0L three-cylinder engine. The former is offered with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox and churns out 88 hp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The punchier turbocharged unit develops 99 hp and 148 Nm and comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

While the base 1.2 E MT variant is priced at INR 7.73 lac (PKR 25.73 lac), the flagship 1.0 V AT DT variant costs as high as INR 13.03 lac (PKR 43.37 lac).
