11th Gen Honda Civic Gets 5-Star Euro NCAP Safety Rating

The new Honda Civic e:HEV has been awarded 5-star rating in the latest round of Euro NCAP crash tests. The new Civic was tested under the latest stringent testing protocols.

The tested variant was 5-door hatchback where the new Civic scored 89.2% (33.9 out of 38 points) in Adult Occupant Protection, 87.7% (43/49 points) in Child Occupant Protection, 82.2% (44.4/54 points) in Vulnerable Road Users and 83.75% (13.4/16 points) in Safety Assist Systems.

The European Civic hybrid gets 11 airbags including knee airbags for both front occupants. A front center airbag is fitted for the first time to prevent collision between the driver and front passenger during a side impact. Plus it comes equipped with newly-designed front bumper beam safety plates. These absorb impact energy, reducing the risk of leg fractures and knee ligament damage for pedestrians in the event of a collision.
