Pak Suzuki, the country largest automobile manufacturer is planning to set up a second manufacturing plant in Karachi. The company has reportedly acquired 80 acres of land right next to its existing site.
The total investment by Pak Suzuki Motors would amount to $460 million. With the completion of its second auto manufacturing plant, the company plans to roll out an addition 100,000 units a year.

The Auto Industry Development Committee (AIDC) is set to meet on Wednesday to deliberate upon the enactment status of the auto policy. This meeting is focused on reports that Prime Minister’s Adviser on Industries and Production, Razzaq Dawood is contemplating to grant Greenfield status to Suzuki’s new plant, as per well-informed sources.
Pak Suzuki celebrated rolling out its 2,000,000th vehicle today and PM’s Adviser Mr Razzaq Dawood was also present at the event. On this occasion Osamu Suzuki, Global Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation Japan is also coming after 11 years to Pakistan. Pak Suzuki has become the first local automaker to have achieve this milestone.

According to reports Pak Suzuki is planning to introduce four new cars to strengthen their position in the market, amid upcoming competition from newcomers. The automaker has already announced to discontinue its hot selling Mehran hatchback and as its replacement, will launch the 8th gen Alto 660cc towards Q1, 2019.
