After a series of teasers and spy shots, the 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport facelift has finally made its debut in Thailand. The Pajero Sport facelift not only gets a major styling update, but also gets improvements to the list of equipment.
Up front, the Dynamic Shield fascia gets in line with the Mitsubishi family including the Triton pickup and Xpander MPV. The horizontal slatted grille is flanked by reshaped bi-LED headlamps that are now trapezoidal in shape with a LED light bar near the base acting as daytime running lights (DRLs).
Other updates include powered tailgate, which can be opened remotely via the key fob or the Mitsubishi Remote Control app. The method works within Bluetooth range, and allows users to operate the tailgate using their Smartphone, including setting it to automatically open or close when in close proximity. You even get a notification and the ability to lock the doors should you forget to do so as you’re walking away form the vehicle.
Inside, the cabin remains largely similar with updates being an 8-inch digital instrument cluster and a new 8-inch infotainment unit. The rear passengers also get access to an AC power outlet in addition to the existing USB outlets.
Furthermore there is a dual-zone climate control, a 12.1-inch widescreen monitor for rear-seat entertainment, 18-inch alloy wheels and optional accessories including a body kit, rugged bumper extensions, side steps, wheel arch fenders, a bonnet shield and logo script, a stainless steel exhaust tip and sportier wheels, driving video recorder and side sills.
Safety features include Lane Change Assist (LCA) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) functions, in addition to active cruise control, blind spot monitoring, autonomous emergency braking, an around-view monitor, hill descent control, hill start assist, vehicle stability control and 7 airbags.
The 2019 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport facelift continues to be powered by 2.4 liter 4N15 four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that punches out 180 hp of power and 430 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission with 2- and 4-wheel drive (Super-Select 4WD-II) options available.
The new Pajero Sport in Thailand is available from 1.299 to 1.469 million baht (PKR 67.33 lac to PKR 76.14 lac) for 2WD variants, while the 4WD version is priced at 1.599 million baht (PKR 82.88 lac).
