Korean automaker SsangYong has introduced the 2020 Tivoli facelift that comes with revised styling & an all-new engine complying with future emission norms. The Tivoli facelift has been launched in South Korea as well as the UK where it’s available with 7-years/ 100,000-mile warranty.

With this mid-life update, the 2020 Ssangyong Tivoli receives an updated fascia, tweaked lamps, new bumpers, redesigned interiors and added equipment. The SUV now features a new 10.25-inch high resolution LCD instrument console. It also gets a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with rear camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Other features include 18-inch diamond cut alloys, leather seats, heated leather steering, LED front fogs, keyless start, automatic headlamps, front and rear parking sensors, etc.
The 2020 SsangYong Tivoli is now available with 3 engine options – a 1.2-liter GDi-T (direct-injection unit) sourced from Mahindra from its newly-developed mStallion family that debuted at the Auto Expo 2020. It churns out 129bhp of power and 230Nm of peak torque. Additionally, the Tivoli is also offered with a 1.5-liter TGDI petrol engine and a 1.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and an AISIN-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The new SsangYong Tivoli comes equipped with a host of safety features. All variants have 6 airbags and advanced safety features including Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Automatic Emergency Breaking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Front Vehicle Start Alert (FVSA), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), Emergency Stop System (ESS), Safety Distance Alert (SDA).
Dewan having acquired Brownfield investment status was in process of introducing a range of vehicles including the Ssangyong Tivoli. In March 2018, Ssangong management visited Pakistan to finalize plans with Dewan and they also visited their assembly plant in Sujawal, Sindh. However Dewan reportedly stopped working on the Ssangyong project due to volatile economic situation of the country. Earlier Renault had also announced to roll back its investment whereas later Ghandhara indicated to shelve the Datsun project due to economic uncertainties.
