Honda City e:HEV RS Launched in Thailand

Honda has launched a new flagship variant of 7th gen City sedan in Thailand. The RS variant which was previously available with 1.0 liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine is now available with the e:HEV hybrid, the system which made its world premiere in Malaysia recently, but will go on sale in Thai market first.

Dubbed as the e:HEV RS, the new flagship variant gets Honda’s latest Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system making use of 107hp /253 Nm electric motor that drives the wheels. It is assisted by a 1.5 liter DOHC i-VTEC engine that develops 98 hp and 127 Nm with an integrated electric motor acting as a generator and a starter.

There is an additional list of equipment offered with the flagship e:HEV RS including steering wheel paddles to adjust the amount of regenerative braking, 7-inch instrument cluster display, an electronic parking brake and rear air-conditioning vents.

The e:HEV RS also gets Honda Sensing suite of active safety features, including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, lane keeping assist, automatic high beam and LaneWatch blind spot camera.

Standard features includes LED headlights, fog lights and taillights, keyless entry with remote engine start and walk-away automatic locking, push-button start, single-zone automatic climate control, 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, 8 speakers and reversing camera whereas the safety equipment consist of 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and BA & electronic stability control.
