Renault has launched the updated 2022 Kwid in India at a starting price of INR 4.49 lac (PKR 10.67 lac). Alongside the updates, the Kwid is now available in a new trim – RXL(O) which sits above the base RXL and below the RXT trim. The hatchback has been a volume driver for Renault ever since it was launched in 2015, with more than 400,000 units sold already.

The mild updates are mostly cosmetic in nature such as new decals, new wheel covers and refreshed upholstery. The 2022 Renault Kwid gets two new color options – Metal Mustard and Ice Cool White, with dual-tone black roof. While the mid and top trims get plastic wheel covers, the up-spec Climber variant gets new dual-tone wheel covers that mimic the appearance of alloy wheels.

Inside, the Kwid remains the same but gets a seat belt pyrotech and load-limiter as standard. The 8-inch touch infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, voice command, electrically folding side mirrors, reverse parking camera, digital instrument cluster and other features remain the same. In terms of safety, the Kwid is equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and seat belt reminder. The new RXL(O) variant gets front power windows rear parcel shelf, intermittent wipers, single-DIN stereo with Bluetooth, USB and AUX, front speakers on top of the base trim.

The 2022 Renault Kwid continues to be offered with two engine options. A 0.8L unit producing 54hp and 72Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual, and a 1.0L unit producing 68hp and 91Nm of torque that comes with either manual or AMT gearbox options. Prices for the 2022 Renault Kwid start at INR 4.49 lac (PKR 10.67 lac) for the 0.8L RXL trim, the new RXL(O) is priced at INR 4.74 lac (PKR 11.27 lac) for the 0.8L and INR 4.84 lac (PKR 11.5 lac) for the 1.0L variant, whereas the top-spec Climber Easy-R is priced at INR 5.84 lac (PKR 13.88 lac).
