2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Debuts in India

Kia continues to revamp its cars with its new style language and tech features. The Sonet is the most recent example, which underwent a mid-lifecycle tweak in the Indian market.

The smallest SUV from Kia was released in 2020 for emerging markets. The 2024 changes for Kia Sonet center on a revamped face with boomerang-shaped LED headlamps extending on the bumper and surrounding a bigger tiger-nose grille. The lighting modules are connected by black trim pieces to a boxier central intake, which sits above a bigger skid plate with a faux aluminum finish.

The profile stays substantially unchanged, albeit with the addition of new color options and 16-inch alloy wheels. The rear end gets a new set of full-width LED taillights that look similar to other Kia models, notably the Carens minivan, as well as additional aluminum-style trim on the reworked bumper. The Indian-market Kia Sonet slightly differs from that of its Chinese-spec sibling, as evidenced by a set of leaked images from a few months ago.

The interior modifications are less noticeable, as the dashboard remains in its original arrangement. The digital cockpit features two 10.25-inch screens, updated climate controls, and new upholstery options. Depending on the level, the features may include wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay compatibility, wireless charging, heated seats, a Bose audio system, a sunroof, an air purifier, 6 airbags (standard), and updated ADAS.

Powertrain options are carried over from the pre-facelift Sonet, including the 1.2L MPi producing 82 hp, the 1.0L T-GDi producing 118 hp, and the 1.5L CRDi diesel producing 114 hp. All versions are front-wheel-drive, with three different transmission options depending on the powertrain.
