All New MG5 Sedan Launched in Thailand

SAIC Motors has introduced the all-new MG5 sedan in Thailand with the concept “BEYOND”, targeting the new generation of buyers who like sleek & sportier looking sedan with coupe-inspired styling. The company boasts that MG5 comes with a large cabin space, complete convenience functions and improved driving performance that is aided with a superior safety system.

The all-new MG5 is the latest vehicle that reflects MG’s development approach consisting of 3 core principles: Technology, Modernity and Value. With a unique coupe-like style the new MG5 boasts body dimensions that are larger than a typical B-segment sedan, which means it has a spacious interior, comfortable seating, and a high and airy overhead area.

The newly designed interior is impressive with soft touch materials, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth & support for Apple CarPlay and Android mobile phone connectivity, multi-function steering wheel and push start button. Moreover, the new MG5 is equipped with features & equipment that is comparable to the C-segment sedan, such as 17-inch alloys, cruise control, 7-inch digital display, 6 airbags, 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, sunroof and digital key with the intelligent i-SMART voice command system. The i-SMART intelligent system from MG allows owner to connect with the car. It can monitor the car easily, and activates car features as desired. With Artificial Intelligence (AI), this makes life easier endlessly as various vehicle functions can be controlled via a smartphone application.

Under the hood, the new MG5 sedan gets 1.5L gasoline engine with a maximum power of 114 hp & comes paired to an 8-speed CVT automatic transmission. Safety equipment include 4-wheel disc brakes, ABS with EBD and BA whereas driver assistance systems include blind spot warning system, 3D surround view camera, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability control (VSC), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and much more.

With a 4-years/ 120,000km warranty, the 2021 MG5 sedan in Thailand is priced as:

  • MG5 C: 559,000 Baht (PKR 27.39 lac)
  • MG5 D: 599,000 Baht (PKR 29.35 lac)
  • MG5 X: 689,000 Baht (PKR 33.76 lac)

Earlier this month, MG has imported few CBU vehicles in Pakistan for trials & tests which includes the MG5 sedan as well according to the import data. If MG introduces this car here, it will certainly give a tough time to the already available sedans of our market.
