The all-new Suzuki Swift will be launching in India next month as confirmed by Maruti Suzuki India Limited. According to information, the sporty hatchback will make its Indian debut during the second week of May.

Camouflaged test mules have been seen testing on Indian roads right after the latest Swift debuted in Japan in late 2023. It has so far been launched in Japan, the UK, and selected European markets, with India set to be among the foremost markets to welcome the new Swift. The new Swift rides on the familiar Suzuki ‘HEARTECT’ platform which is light and rigid. Suzuki says there was a comprehensive overhaul of the underbody’s structure and component layout during development resulting in the adoption of a highly rigid frame that enhances collision safety.
Under the hood, the new Swift for the Indian market will get a new 1.2L engine which has been thoroughly revised for the latest model to produce better performance figures compared to the 1.2L engine in the outgoing model. With 82 hp of power and 112Nm of torque, the new Swift will have its 0-100 km/h acceleration time improved by 5% to 12.5 seconds for the manual model and 11.9 seconds for the CVT variant.

Besides the latest Swift hatchback, its sedan variant called Dzire is also undergoing testing, the all-new iteration of which will be subsequently introduced in the Indian market. The price of the all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to start at around INR 6.5 lac.
