Ghandhara Nissan Limited Now Has a New Name

Ghandhara Nissan Limited (GNL) has decided to change its name according to a recent notification the company sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

The company, which is a part of Bibojee Services (Pvt) Limited, has a knack for coming up with names that have long perplexed the public. There is Ghandhara Industries Limited (GIL), which offers a diverse range of goods and automobiles mainly Isuzu light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, buses as well as the D-MAX pickup truck. Another company that produces tyres for cars and heavy transport in Pakistan is Ghandhara Tyre and Rubber (GTR), formerly known as General Tyre and Rubber.

Then there is Ghandhara Nissan Limited (GNL), which currently assembles & markets Chery SUVs having formerly assembled & sold Nissan-branded vehicles in Pakistan. GNL also deals in various brands of trucks including those from Dongfeng, Renault, and JAC. But now that the company no longer deals in Nissan cars after the Datsun stint ended a few years ago, it seemed more suitable to separate the Nissan moniker from its corporate branding.

GAL Notice

According to the letter the company sent to the PSX, with effect from 18th April 2023, it has announced changing its name to Ghandhara Automobiles Limited (GAL). The letter also informs that the company website will be shifted to ghandharaautomobiles.com.pk however the URL is not yet active.

Despite the fact that Ghandhara isn’t particularly well known for its successful runs in automotive enterprises in Pakistan, GAL expects to have a long-lasting collaboration with its new partners.
