Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) the assemblers of Kia as well as Peugeot cars in Pakistan has announced a fresh price hike for its locally assembled vehicles without mentioning any reason.
Details indicate that the prices of the Kia Picanto AT, Kia Sportage, Kia Stonic EX+, and Kia Sorento in Pakistan have been raised by the company. Kia Picanto MT and Kia Stonic EX, however, have escaped the price increase.
New Kia Prices in Pakistan
After a hike of Rs 200,000, the price of Kia Picanto AT in Pakistan is now PKR 38.25 lac. The price of Kia Stonic EX+ has been jacked up by Rs 200,000, bringing the new rate to PKR 59.30 lac.
The price of Kia Sportage Alpha has been increased by Rs 250,000 to PKR 73.0 lac while the price of Sportage FWD after an increase of Rs 250,000 is now priced at PKR 81.9 lac. Similarly, the price of Sportage AWD is now PKR 88.20 lac after an increase of Rs 250,000. Lastly, the recently launched Kia Sportage Black Edition has seen a price jump of Rs 250,000 as well, bringing the new price to PKR 93.0 lac.
After an increase of Rs 400,000, the price of Kia Sorento 2.4 FWD in Pakistan is now PKR 1 crore 8.0 lac. Likewise, the price of Kia Sorento 2.4 AWD and 3.5 FWD is now PKR 1 crore 17.0 lac and PKR 1 crore 17.9 lac respectively.
New Peugeot Prices in Pakistan
The new price of the Peugeot 2008 Active variant is PKR 70.5 lac with an increase of Rs 210,000. Meanwhile, the top-spec Peugeot 2008 Allure after an increase of Rs. 220,000 will now cost PKR 78.0 lac.
The revised Peugeot prices are applicable from 3rd July 2023 whereas the new prices of Kia vehicles are effective from 5th July 2023. The latest increase comes as the auto industry continues to struggle in the face of a worsening economic crisis and import restrictions coupled with the shrinking purchase power of the masses.
