Letin Mengo Mini EV Launched in China, Ready for International Markets

Letin Mengo, a four-door mini EV with a price ranging from just 39,800-59,800 RMB (PKR 11.82 lac – PKR 17.6 lac) has been launched in China. This is an addition to the Lettin Mengo series of hatchbacks which already consist of the Letin Mengo, Letin Mengo Pro and Letin Mengo Max.

According to Letin, it specifically aims at Chinese people with a small monthly income to further improve the mobility with predicted market size of nearly 100 million vehicles. Letin Mengo isn’t just restricted to China, but is already exported to other countries as well, including Cambodia, South Korea, Panama, Peru, and Brazil.

Designed by Pininfarina, the Lettin Mengo EV measures 3,622 mm long, 1,607 mm wide and 1,525 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,442 mm. The dimensions are pretty much comparable to the Suzuki Cultus (Celerio) we have here, which measures 3,600/1,600/1,540 mm with a 2,425 mm wheelbase making Lettin Mengo slightly longer and wider than the Cultus & with a bigger wheelbase, but stands marginally shorter in height.

The design is attractive yet not too outlandish with fascia featuring squarish headlights & a closed grille with Lettin wordmark on it. The side features floating roof design whereas the back again features slim pair of lights connected by a black bar with the name of parent company written on it. The 4-door, 5-seater car also comes in dual-tone exterior color options.

Inside, the simple looking interior comes available in many colors and features 9-inch floating central control screen which resides on the instrument panel decorated with vibrant colors, making the interior more lively. The Letin Mengo also comes with GPS navigation, 5G connection, and driver assistance system.

The Letin Mengo is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which supports fast and slow charging. The maximum power of the motor is 35kW, the peak torque is 125 Nm helping the EV achieve maximum speed of 100km/h. The Letin Mengo is powered by lithium iron phosphate batteries with 3 different capacities of 11.52/ 17.28/ and 29.44kW/h, with three cruising ranges of 130km, 185km and 300km respectively.
