India’s Mahindra Scorpio N Sets New Guinness World Record

Indian automaker Mahindra has announced that a team of expert drivers in its flagship Scorpio-N SUV has officially set a new Guinness World Record for the “fastest crossing of the Simpson Desert by a production vehicle.”

This accomplishment came soon after the Scorpio-N’s recent Australian debut, which highlighted the SUV’s exceptional capabilities and dependability as the team sped through the difficult terrain of the Simpson Desert at a record-breaking pace.

In a spectacular 13-hour period, the Mahindra Scorpio-N demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the excursion, overcoming 1100 sand dunes and sustaining peak outdoor temperatures of over 50 degrees Celsius. Gene Corbett (Total Driver) and Ben Robinson (of 4WD Industries) shared the driving duties of the Scorpio-N, and they were joined by a group of photographers and videographers to capture the amazing journey. Officials from Guinness World Records verified their record-breaking journey.

The Simpson Desert is a mesmerizing destination for motoring aficionados all around the world. It’s an extraordinary experience because of the breathtaking beauty, ever-changing terrain, and unique flora and animals. The record-breaking voyage began at the crack of dawn in Birdsville and ended in Alkaseltzer Bore in 13 hours. During the 385 km excursion, the Scorpio-N encountered salt flats 20 meters above sea level, which posed a considerable problem due to high moisture content.
