Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Jimny to be Exported to Australia

Maruti Suzuki will be exporting the Jimny and Fronx to the Australian market in the coming months. Both vehicles will be manufactured in India. The 5-door version of the Jimny and the new Fronx crossover made their debut at the Auto Expo 2023 held last month in India.

The Jimny 5-door has a wheelbase of 2,590 mm, which is slightly longer than the 3-door version. In India, the off-roader is powered by a 1.5L petrol engine and is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system.

Maruti Jimny and Fronx launch

The Fronx crossover is based on the Heartect platform and comes with either a 1.0L turbo-petrol engine producing 99 hp of power and 147 Nm of torque or a 1.2L petrol engine that makes 89 hp and 113 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic as well as an AMT.

Technical specifications of the Australia-spec Jimny and Fronx are yet to be revealed. More details are expected to be available in forthcoming months.
