The main thing about 9th gen which makes it unsuitable for our market is the absence of a manual gearbox. It was only developed with a CVT: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Alto#Ninth_generation_(2021).

Now that the better Euro5 fuel has arrived in Pakistan, these things can be improved.

By now the only complaint from Alto 8th gen is the extremely small trunk, which is even smaller than Mehran. This can also be solved by increasing the length of the car locally to suit the needs of the local public. After all Pakistan does not legally impose kei car size limitations.

Highly unlikely. I don’t think there was a facelift of this model at all? Even for the JDM model, so it’s very unlikely we get anything new in this model. Most we could expect from PakSuzuki is that they either launch the new Alto or they keep selling this model until it becomes Mehran 2.0 in terms of years sold.

VVT engine upgrade?
Optional ABS on all trims?
Optional airbags?
RPM meter?
165/55R15 alloy rims like the Alto RS/Works? New wheel caps for the standard 145/80R13 wheels?
Projection headlight like the Alto RS/Works?

New exterior colours?

I would love to see an article discussing your personal view and opinion on how to perfectly solve our auto industry fiasco that has been going on for decades. How to truly make our auto industry a manufacturing or at least a functioning, progressive and profitable industry. I’m sure a lot of people have a lot of different ideas and opinions on how this could be solved but we would love to hear yours!

Mehran in its last year was sold 30,000 & more units so people not buying it in ending days is a stale theory, or maybe you counted them standing on a remote street like you always do?
