Suzuki Showcased 5-door Jimny at 2024 Singapore Motor Show

Suzuki has showcased the 5-door Jimny at the recently concluded 2024 Singapore Motor Show. The extended version of the compact off-roader made its global debut last January and is more practical than the three-door variant we’re familiar with.

The Suzuki Jimny 5-door is 505 mm longer overall than the three-door variant, measuring 3,985 mm long, 1,645 mm wide, and 1,720 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,590 mm. Its wheelbase is 340 mm longer than that of the 3-door version. This enables two more doors and increased legroom for rear passengers, yet the back seat remains in a 50-50 split.

Apart from an added glass behind the rear door, there is no change in terms of styling, interior design & functionality as well as the engine under the hood. The K15B 1.5L naturally-aspirated unit produces 103 hp of power and 134 Nm of torque and comes paired with either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox options. Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system is standard with a transfer case for selectable low-range.

Suzuki in Pakistan discontinued the Jimny due to poor sales, although the previous generation model was a reasonable seller if not hot selling. Because of its exorbitant price, the current-gen was never able to attract customers. Although the 5-door Jimny appears to be a more practical option, it is unlikely that Pak Suzuki will introduce this vehicle in Pakistan.
