Maruti has started teasing the all-new Suzuki Swift captioned “Introducing the New Epic Swift” ahead of its formal launch in India expected to take place on the 9th of May 2024. Bookings are also underway set against INR 11,000. The arrival of the latest generation model will make India among the foremost markets to welcome the new Swift.
Although the design is largely going to be similar to the new Swift that debuted in Japan late last year & European markets earlier this year, there are certain changes expected for the Indian market such as redesigned alloy wheels & door handles and a unique LED light signature at the back. On the inside, the changes will reportedly include a new floating touchscreen infotainment system, a new console for AC functions, a bigger MID (multi-information display), a 3-spoke steering wheel, and all-LED lighting. The new Swift could also borrow USB-C charging ports and rear AC vents from the Suzuki Fronx.
In terms of safety, the 2024 Suzuki Swift in India is expected to come equipped with 6 airbags as standard, along with ABS with EBD & ESP, and 3-point seatbelts for the rear occupants. While the Swift at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show had ADAS features and rear disc brakes, it is unlikely that the India-spec Swift will get the same.
Globally, the all-new Swift comes with a new 1.2L three-cylinder petrol with mild-hybrid technology but India is expected to continue with the K12C 1.2L four-cylinder petrol unit. This engine in standard guise produces 88hp/113Nm and can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox option. The CNG variant produces 78hp/98Nm and is only offered with a 5-speed manual.

Although official prices are yet to be disclosed, the all-new Swift in India is expected to be priced from INR 6.5 lac to INR 10.0 lac (ex-showroom).
