Pak Suzuki has announced a massive increase of Rs 304,000 in the price of its Swift GLX CVT variant effective from March 8, 2024. According to the company notification, the increase comes in response to the recent surge in GST imposed by the government on locally assembled vehicles.

With this, the price of Suzuki Swift GLX CVT in Pakistan has shot up from Rs 5.125 million to Rs 5.429 million, reflecting the substantial impact of the revised tax structure which takes the GST from 18% to a whopping 25%. This is the second time within the last two weeks that the company has increased the price of Swift, the earlier hike announced on February 29, saw the hatchback’s price increase by Rs. 85,000.
The tax increase applies to vehicles with prices exceeding Rs 4 million (without GST), engine capacities of 1400cc & above, and double-cabin 4x4s. Other auto assemblers are also expected to increase their prices soon following the latest increase in sales tax.
