Volkswagen has announced plans to cut 35,000 jobs across its German locations by 2030 as part of the Zukunft Volkswagen (or “Future Volkswagen”) agreement, aiming to save 1.5 billion euros annually in labor costs. In addition to job cuts, Volkswagen will reduce its production capacity by 734,000 units at the affected German plants. Combined with efforts to lower development costs, the company aims to save over four billion euros annually.
