The automaker is set to reveal the production model of the SU7 Ultra later today. “This debut represents not only a remarkable achievement but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter,” said Lei Jun, the company’s founder and CEO.
Xiaomi introduced its first electric sedan, the SU7, on March 28 earlier this year, in three variants: Standard, Pro, and Max, with starting prices of 215,900 yuan ($30,260), 245,900 yuan, and 299,900 yuan, respectively. Later, Xiaomi’s founder, chairman, and CEO, Lei Jun, unveiled the SU7 Ultra prototype during his annual speech on July 19. Based on the SU7, the Ultra is designed for high performance and track use.
The SU7 Ultra prototype features Xiaomi’s V8s motor, which spins at 27,200 rpm and produces 1,548 horsepower. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.97 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 5.96 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 350 km/h.
At the helm was David Pittard, the recent winner of the 2023 24 Hours of the Nürburgring. Xiaomi will provide further details about the SU7 Ultra’s production version, slated for release in the first half of 2025, during its event today. According to Lei Jun, the production model will maintain the prototype’s core structure, triple-motor system, and battery configuration, though it will come at a slightly higher price. The SU7 Ultra production version is expected to cost about 800,000 yuan ($112,000).
