2017 Honda City Facelift Launched in India, Priced from INR 8.5 Lac

After being successfully launched in Thailand & Malaysia, the 2017 Honda City facelift has been officially launched in India, with prices starting at INR 8.5 lac.

Besides new styling, the Honda City facelift brings a host of new features to the compact sedan. On the outside, the facelift Honda City features restyled bumpers, new LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED fog lamps, LED tail lamps, new diamond-cut and two-tone alloy wheels in 15- and 16-inch sizes, LED license plate lamps and trunk lid spoiler with LED brake light.

On the inside, the 2017 Honda City features beige upholstery with dual-tone beige and black trims. The facelift model gets a new 7.7-inch Digipad touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, voice recognition and MirrorLink. The new infotainment system has 1.5 GB internal memory and features WiFi support for internet.

Other interior changes include first-in-class soft-touch dashboard on passenger side, new white illumination in the instrument cluster, new white and red illumination for the engine push start-stop button and new LED cabin lights. The top-end ZX grade offers rear-adjustable headrests as well.

Honda has also focused on the safety of the car. The new City is equipped with dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, 3- Point ELR seat belts with pretensioners & load limiters, pedestrian injury mitigation technology, ISOFIX compatible rear seats and rear windshield defogger as standard. The ZX grade offers six airbags – dual-front, side curtain and both front side, as well as automatic headlights, headlamp auto-off timer and automatic rain-sensing wipers.

There is no changes to the engines of the car. The 119 PS 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and 100 PS 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine continue as before. However, a number of new sound and vibration absorption technologies have been applied to reduce the NVH levels in the diesel model. The petrol model can be had with a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission, while the diesel model has a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol MT, petrol CVT and diesel MT models have a fuel economy rating of 17.4 km/l, 18 km/l and 25.6 km/l respectively.
