2023 Honda City Facelift Fully Leaked Ahead of Launch in India

Honda is all set to launch the 7th gen City facelift in India which will come 3 years after the latest generation model was introduced in the country. Bear in mind over there they call it 5th gen since they disregard the first two generations that were produced as hatchbacks during the 1980s.

The 2023 Honda City facelift is blessed with subtle enhancements with an updated front end featuring a slimmer chrome grille with black honeycomb inserts. The updated front bumper boasts new fog lamp housings and a new lower air intake. Towards the back, the bumper has been revised while the reflectors are repositioned. The rest of the vehicle remains pretty much unchanged.

With the stricter RDE compliance norms, the Honda City facelift will ditch the 1.5L diesel engine altogether and will be available with only petrol and strong hybrid powertrains. These include a 1.5L petrol generating 121 hp, with transmission choices of 6-speed manual and CVT automatic. The City e:HEV will continue to have the Atkinson Cycle 1.5L petrol-hybrid powertrain that churns out 126 hp and comes mated to an e-CVT transmission.

Talking about safety, the ADAS features were only offered with hybrid variants earlier. Now, however, Honda will also offer ADAS with regular variants of City. Currently, the Honda City petrol variants are priced in the range of INR 11.87 lac to INR 15.62 lac. With the upgrades and cost of compliance, the 2023 Honda City facelift is expected to become pricier by around INR 1.0 lac.
