After making its debut in the North American markets late last year, the 9th-gen XV80 Toyota Camry has been launched in Thailand, making it the second market in the ASEAN region after Singapore, to receive the latest model.
The XV80 Camry in Thailand comes in three variants – Smart, Premium, and Premium Luxury, while pricing starts from 1,450,000 baht (around PKR 1 crore 20.35 lac). All variants are powered by a 2.5L hybrid petrol A25A-FXS inline-four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle petrol engine that outputs 186 hp and 221 Nm and is E20 fuel-compatible.
Power is sent to the front wheels via an e-CVT. The electric drive comes from a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 100 kW and 208 Nm, which, according to Toyota Thailand, combine to make a total system output of 227 hp. The fuel tank capacity is 50 liters.
All three variants for Thailand get automatic LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs and full-LED tail lamps. Exterior door handles and side mirrors are in the body color, the latter with LED indicators, electric adjustment, and auto-fold on the Smart and Premium variants; the Premium Luxury adds a memory function and reverse link. Also standard across the board are automatic wipers and a front acoustic windscreen, while the Premium and Premium Luxury variants gain a panoramic roof with power-adjustable sunshades.
The Thai-spec XV80 Camry’s interior features a mix of synthetic and genuine leather upholstery. All variants come with an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat, while the top-tier Premium Luxury trim offers additional perks such as seat ventilation, a two-position memory function, and automatic rearward movement when the driver enters or exits the vehicle. Both the Premium and Premium Luxury trims also come with shift paddles.
The front passenger seat is electrically adjustable in all variants, with the Smart and Premium trims offering four-way adjustment, while the Premium Luxury trim includes ventilation, eight-way adjustment, and seat-back buttons for rear passengers to adjust the seat. Rear passengers in the Premium Luxury model also enjoy a power-reclining function, whereas the Smart and Premium trims have standard, non-reclining seats.
For the driver, steering column adjustment for reach and height is standard across all variants, but the Premium Luxury adds electric adjustment with a memory function. All models feature a leather-trimmed steering wheel and a synthetic leather-trimmed center console storage compartment.
Driver instrumentation in the XV80 Camry starts with a seven-inch TFT color display in the base Smart variant, while the Premium variant upgrades to a 12.3-inch TFT color display. The Premium Luxury model goes further, adding a head-up display. Infotainment is delivered through a 12.3-inch touchscreen across all variants, with audio powered by a six-speaker system in the Smart and Premium models, while the Premium Luxury gets a nine-speaker JBL system.
All variants support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and come equipped with three USB outlets and a wireless device charger for front passengers, two USB outlets for rear passengers, and a 12-volt power supply outlet. The Smart and Premium variants feature automatic two-zone air conditioning, while the Premium Luxury offers a three-zone setup for left, right, and rear zones.
For added convenience, all models include a remote key, automatic cabin lighting, and sunshades for the rear doors and rear windscreen. In terms of cameras, the Smart variant has a reversing camera, while the Premium and Premium Luxury trims offer a panoramic view camera system along with a dashcam.
Driver assistance systems in the Thai-spec XV80 Camry bring blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert with safe exit assist, pre-collision safety, lane departure alert with steering assist and lane tracing assist, and dynamic radar cruise control with curve speed reduction. Active safety systems include VSC, traction control, hill start assist, ABS with brake assist, and EBD and emergency stop signal, while passive safety kit brings front, side, curtain, and driver’s knee airbags across all three variants.
