Suzuki started export of the Carry from Japan in 1976, and started production in Indonesia in the same year. Since then, the Carry has been acclaimed for its ease-of-use and durability. It has supported working people in various walks of life and was delivered in 145 countries and regions around the world with cumulative sales of over 2 million units as of February 2019. The 1976 Carry was also present at the Suzuki booth.

The 2019 Suzuki Carry features a more stylish design and is longer and wider than the old model. It measures 4,195 mm in length with a 2,205 mm wheelbase. The width and height vary according to the version selected: Flat Deck is 1,675 mm wide and 1,870 mm tall, whereas the Wide Deck version is 1,765 mm wide and 1,910 mm tall. The Wide Deck version offers a 3-way loading bay while both the versions offer 1-ton loading capacity.

It has a wider cabin that can accommodate up to 3 people with ease. The interior is simple and practical and offers many storage areas inside the cabin, which adds to the practicality of the vehicle. The driver’s seat is adjustable, and the key features include power steering, air conditioning and audio system as well.

The new Carry is powered by the K15B-C 1.5-liter petrol engine, producing 96hp at 5,600rpm and 135Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. There is a MacPherson-strut front and rear, lead-rigid-axle suspension to serve the duty. The all-new Suzuki Carry is available in three colors, white, silver and black.

Entering into the 12th generation, Suzuki’s all-new Carry is bigger and more capable than the one we have here. Just to remind, the Bolan/ Ravi are rebadged versions of the 7th generation Carry that was introduced back in 1979 and have completed 40 years of their life already. Whether Pak Suzuki will introduce the new 2019 Carry here, perhaps it’s something quite hard to answer.
