The 2019 Hyundai Santro has been officially launched in India with a price tag starting from INR 3.89 lac (PKR 7.0lac) Targeted primarily towards first-time car buyers, the new Santro will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Celerio and the Renault Kwid 1.0.
The new Santro is available in five variants for the petrol manual version while the petrol automatic and the CNG manual versions gets two variants each. The new Hyundai Santro prices for the petrol manual range from INR 3.89 to INR 5.45 lac while the ones for the petrol automatic AMT range from INR 5.18 to INR 5.46 lac. The new Santro CNG is priced between INR 5.23 to INR 5.64 lac.

The new Santro is equipped with a 4-cylinder 1.1-liter petrol engine with low vibrations, superior performance and high fuel efficiency. The petrol version churns out 68 hp and 99 Nm of torque. The factory fitted CNG option has a power output of 59 hp and 84 Nm of torque. There are two transmission choices on offer, 5-speed manual and 5-speed Smart Auto automated manual. The petrol variants (MT/AMT) have an ARAI fuel efficiency of 20.3 km/l while the CNG unit does 30.5 km/kg.
Hyundai India has reportedly received more than 23,500 pre-orders for the all-new Santro in just 13 days. The company had started taking pre-orders on the 10th of this month.

Hyundai India has also revealed that the company will start exporting the new Santro hatchback to various international markets by early 2019. Now when Hyundai has shown its intent to introduce the new Santro in other countries, it will be interesting to see if it makes its way to Pakistan as a local assembled option. Hyundai having teamed up with Nishat group, is in process of making a comeback in our country while the construction of their plant in M-3 Industrial City Faisalabad is also underway.
