Suzuki launched the new 9th generation Alto kei car in Japan back in November 2021. Now it has launched the latest iteration of Alto Lapin which is a boxy retro-styled version of the Alto and while its popular among the female buyers, its restricted to Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) only.

The current third generation Alto Lapin (HE33S) debuted back in 2015 so the latest iteration is more appropriately a thorough facelift and is not based on the regular 9th gen Alto kei car. The new Alto Lapin LC looks adorable featuring a small open grille that has chrome accents. A narrow slit sits higher up on the fascia while the big radial headlights are adorned with chrome trim rings. The rear end stays same as the standard Lapin, except for a wing-shaped badge with the LC logo.
According to Suzuki, the Lapin LC’s design is a recall to the Suzuki Fronte 360 from the late ’60s. To stick with the retro aesthetics, the Lapin LC is available in old-school shades like light green, pastel pink, beige, brown, and blue. There are dual-tone color schemes available as well with a roof finished in either brown or white.

Inside, the Lapin LC shares an interior layout with the standard Alto Lapin but has some special touches. The upholstery is a mix of brown plaid fabric and chocolate-colored faux leather. Other areas like door panels and headliner are beige, which keeps the cabin from appearing too dark. Buyers can select a Wood-work or Dark Gray Pearl panel for the dashboard. Interior amenities include an optional 7-inch infotainment screen, heated front seats and automatic climate control. Lapin is French for rabbit, hence there are animated bunnies on the info display beneath the speedometer.
