All-New Toyota C-HR Teased Ahead of Debut

In late 2022 Toyota said the C-HR would get a second generation based on the Prologue concept. Since then, we’ve seen the quirky subcompact crossover donning camouflage undergoing testing in prototype form, and now we’re getting our first glimpse at the final product.

The murky teaser reveals a rear light signature with a trio of parallel lines on either side flanking the illuminated make and model lettering. The rest of the details remain uncertain.

However, according to the limited information that has been revealed thus far, the new C-HR has somewhat shorter overhangs and is more spacious inside, which means the wheelbase has been lengthened. For greater aerodynamics, the compact crossover incorporates door handles that stay flush with the body. Toyota’s latest “Hammerhead” front fascia as inspired by recent models is a little younger here in order to better cater to the model’s target clientele.

With the Prologue concept, the Japanese automaker has strongly suggested its new B-segment crossover has been fully redesigned by its Euro team at ED² in southern France. The new C-HR will not only look completely different, but Toyota has also stated that a plug-in hybrid version will be offered too. The normal self-charging hybrid will be available alongside the PHEV, which will employ batteries made in Europe.

The new C-HR will be offered among other compact crossovers from Toyota, which include the Yaris Cross and the smaller Aygo X in the European markets. The second-gen C-HR, “featuring edgy design and advanced technologies,” will debut on June 26 and go on sale in Europe before the end of this year.
