The all-new 12th gen Toyota Corolla Altis just made its ASEAN debut in Thailand earlier this week. Now according to Autonetmagz, the 2019 Corolla Altis is set to launch in Indonesia on Thursday, the 12th of September.
Toyota Corolla Altis for the ASEAN market is reminiscent to the international Corolla Sedan, which has a more conventional and less overtly aggressive design compared to the US-spec version.
As per reports the new Corolla Altis for Indonesian market will use the naturally aspirated 1.8 liter 2ZR-FBE engine with 140 hp of power and 177 Nm of torque mated to a CVT gearbox. The hybrid mill that combines the 2ZR-FXE Atkinson-cycle 1.8 liter engine with 98 hp and 142 Nm coupled with a 72 hp/122 Nm electric motor is also on cards.
Measuring 4,640 mm long, 1,780 mm wide and 1,435 mm tall, the new Corolla which sits on the TNGA platform is 10 mm longer, 5 mm wider and 45 mm lower than the outgoing model, however the 2,700 mm wheelbase remains unchanged.
In Pakistan, the 11th gen Toyota Corolla was launched back in 2014 and will be completing its 6 years in 2020. The Corolla here comes available with 1.3 liter engine, while the Altis variants are available with 1.6 and 1.8 liter engines. The company is currently testing the Yaris sedan for a possible year-end launch replacing the 1.3 liter Corolla variants thereby making room for the next generation Corolla that may reach our market somewhere in 2020.
