The all new BMW 1 series sedan will debut at Guangzhou Auto Show in November this year, and will be officially launched in early 2017.
The BMW 1 Series sedan is the company’s first ever FWD sedan, riding on the new UKL platform which underpins the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer and BMW X1, as well as the MINI 3-door, MINI 5-door, MINI Clubman and MINI Convertible.
According to reports the sedan has been developed exclusively for China, but its hatchback version will be a global product. The 1 Series Sedan measures 4456 mm in length, 1803 mm in width and 1446 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2670 mm.
The BMW 1 Series Sedan will be available in three models: 118i, 120i and 125i. The 118i will be powered by a 136 hp 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, while the remaining two models will have a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine in different states of tunes (120i: 192 hp, 125i: 231 hp). The 1 Series Sedan will be offered with LED headlamps, two-tone exterior mirrors, sunroof, head-up display and 9 styles of wheels (118i: 16-, 17- and 18-inch, 120i and 125i: 17- and 18-inch). The 120i and 125i models also sport dual exhaust pipes.
The 1 series sedan will rival the likes of Mercedes CLA & Audi A3
