According to the data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA), sales of locally assembled vehicles, including passenger cars, LCVs, 4x4s, and pickups, clocked 13,108 units in October, a 27% increase compared to the previous month (MoM) and a 112% jump from the same period last year (YoY).
This increase brought total sales for the first four months of FY25 to 40,693 units. However, the figure remains significantly below the levels seen prior to 2022.
Pak Suzuki posted the largest month-on-month increase of 40% and an 85% YoY jump, with sales reaching 7,040 units in October. Total sales for Suzuki during the first four months of FY25 rose to 20,176 units, reflecting a 37% YoY growth.
Indus Motor Company (IMC) reported sales of 2,532 units, marking a 142% YoY increase and a 7% MoM rise. Additionally, the company sold 56% more Toyota vehicles during July-October FY25 compared to the same period last year.
Honda Atlas recorded sales of 1,514 units in October, representing a 230% YoY increase and a 19% MoM rise. Sales for the July-October FY25 period grew by 64%, reaching 4,862 units compared to the same period last year.
Sazgar Engineering Works Ltd (SEWL) experienced the largest surge, with sales jumping 296% YoY and 21% MoM to 1,002 units in October, marking the company’s highest-ever sales for Haval SUVs. SEWL’s sales for the first four months of FY25 soared by 265%, totaling 3,607 units compared to the same period last year.
Hyundai Nishat saw a 34% YoY increase but a 26% MoM decline in October sales, with 504 units sold. Its cumulative sales for the July-October FY25 period were down 10%, at 2,301 units compared to the previous year.
