A new luxury electric car brand from China is getting ready to take on Tesla and others with a new high-tech electric car. The electric vehicle brand is called Gyon and will be launched in USA next month.

Although Gyon is a new brand, it is backed by major investor Sitech Electric Automobile, one of the fastest growing electric-vehicle companies in China. Sitech is the EV brand of First Automotive Works (FAW), one of China’s biggest automakers.
Gyon’s first luxury electric vehicle is said to be a high-performance car that can reach a range of around 435 miles (700 km), and that it hits 62 mph (100 km/h) in under four seconds. There will also be self-driving capabilities and what the company calls an intelligent vehicle operating system; this probably refers to an in-car AI system, such as the one in the recently launched NIO ES8. The autonomous tech will be supplied by Bosch, which makes sense with FAW’s ties to Volkswagen.

Sitech is backed and founded by Guian New District Development and Investment Co., Ltd. The company is focused on the R&D of cutting-edge vehicle design, as well as the development of intelligent connected vehicles. Sitech will provide design, R&D and manufacturing for Gyon’s planned intelligent electric vehicles.
Official unveiling of Gyon’s first luxury electric vehicle will be held on 8th August in Los Angeles. The leading team at Sitech will also attend the Los Angeles event, including CEO Jacky Xian and COO Joe Chao. The executives will present their insights about the electric vehicle, as well as their strategic plan for the whole electric vehicle ecosystem Gyon is working on. Earlier this year, Sitech has already opened its first office in the Silicon Valley.
