FAW has officially launched the flagship Senia R9 SUV in China on the 26th of May 2018. Slotted above the R7, the Senia R9 made its official debut at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show held last month.

The Senia R9 measures 4505×1835×1695mm, with a wheelbase of 2700mm, and is powered by a 1.2 liter turbocharged engine with 150 hp and 215 Nm. Two transmission options are available, a 5-speed manual & a 7-speed DCT. There are total 8 trims available, 4 with each transmission option.
Price for the 5-speed MT versions starts from 83,900 yuan (PKR 15.1 lac) & goes up to 111,900 yuan (PKR 20.1 lac). Whereas the 7-speed DCT versions are priced from 97,700 (PKR 17.65 lac) and goes as high as PKR 125,900 yuan (PKR 22.7 lac) for the fully loaded version.
The R9 adopts an overall modern & stylish design language with a floating roof. The front fascia has a lattice grille decorated with chrome. The headlights with LED DRLs on both sides are connected to the air intake grille.

At the rear, the R9 is equipped with a horizontally-oriented LED tail lights and features two-outlet exhausts on either sides. The exhaust port is chrome-plated and the upper part is also added with exquisite silver trim.
Like the exterior, the Senia R9 features an impressive interior with large dials, multi-function steering wheel, floating touchscreen, panoramic sunroof and two-tone interior color coding with chrome embellishments that enhances the look of the interior. It is equipped with YatDrive Smart Link System, which has the ability of speech recognition and semantic analysis. In addition, the system also performs functions such as remote control, vehicle diagnosis, security protection, traffic information and providing rich entertainment facilities for drivers and passengers.
The FAW Senia R9 will compete against the likes of Baojun 530, Changan CS55 and the GAC GS4 in China. For more details and pictures click here.
