The all-new Fiat Titano midsize pickup has been launched in Algeria, seven months after the original teasers. Besides Africa, the model will also be available in South America starting with Brazil. Every market will receive a unique engine designed to meet the distinctive demands of the respective customer base.
Being part of the Stellantis family, the Fiat Titano is basically a rebadged Peugeot Landtrek pickup truck, which in turn is based on the award-winning Changan Kaicene F70 pickup truck, better known as Changan Hunter in export markets. While the Landtrek has a different fascia compared to its donor Changan Hunter, the Titano remains very similar to its Peugeot cousin sparing a redesigned front grille, the emblems, 18-inch alloy wheels, and the name etched on the tailgate which is inspired by Greek mythology.
The interior is also largely similar to the Peugeot Landtrek, apart from the Fiat emblem on the steering wheel. Notably, only the Titano Volcano flagship variant comes equipped with a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen.
As with its siblings, the ladder-frame pickup is available in Single-Cab and Double-Cab versions, prioritizing cargo area length or interior space respectively. With a length of 5,331 mm, the Titano is marginally longer than the Toyota Hilux.

According to Fiat, the Algerian-spec Titano is focused on fuel efficiency, which is why they fitted it with a 1.9L diesel engine that produces 148 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted via a 6-speed manual gearbox, to either the rear (4×2) or to all four wheels (4×4) with an electronic differential lock. The maximum payload capacity of 1,210 kg puts it in close proximity to its primary rivals.
Fiat Titano in Algeria
The Fiat Titano is already available in Algerian dealerships with prices ranging from 3,489,000 DA ($25,939) to 4,289,000 DA ($31,887) depending on the variant. Fiat is soon expected to launch the midsize pickup truck in other African and South American markets.
