GWM Releases Official Photos of 2nd-Gen Haval H9 SUV

Great Wall Motors (GWM) has released official photos of the second-generation Haval H9. The flagship SUV is expected to be formally launched in China during the first half of 2024.

The front fascia styling looks reminiscent of the likes of Haval Dargo with large headlamps having circular light signatures and a dominant grille up front. The SUV boasts clean straight lines, a boxy silhouette, chunky wing mirrors, squarish wheel arches, and traditional door handles. The rear gets vertically stacked tail lights and a square-shaped spare wheel cover.

Other details include black roof rails and skid plates, a panoramic roof, and 19-inch allow wheels. The new Haval H9 comes in both 5-seat and 7-seat configurations and measures 1,976 mm wide and 1,930 mm tall with a 2,850 mm wheelbase. The length varies depending on the presence of a rear-mounted spare wheel/ or storage box which is either 5,000 mm or 5,070 mm.

Interior images haven’t been released but interestingly, the vehicle was recently revealed for a Russian market launch which shows a glimpse of the inside of the Haval H9 as well. The dual-tone interior will feature multiple screens, a wide central tunnel with a chunky gear lever and various controls, and multi-function steering.

The 2nd-gen H9 will be powered by either a 222 hp/385 Nm 2.0L turbocharged petrol or 184 hp/480 Nm 2.4L turbo diesel engine, mated to an 8-speed AT or 9-speed AT, respectively. The vehicle will also come equipped with BorgWarner’s TOD (Torque-On-Demand) four-wheel drive system.
