The Elantra has been the worst-performing model in Hyudai’s lineup in Pakistan. Hyundai-Nishat which is doing relatively well in terms of sales compared to other automakers in these testing times, is somehow unable to reinvigorate the Elantra.
In Q1 of the current fiscal year, the sales of the Hyundai Sonata and Tucson declined by 17% each, while that of Porter increased by 6%. On the other hand, Elantra suffered from a deplorable 70% decline in sales.

Now Hyundai has launched a limited-time offer that enables customers to enjoy free registration on booking any variant of the Elantra. The company hopes that the offer will entice buyers into opting for the Elantra sedan which will eventually improve its sales.
Hyundai Elantra is currently priced at PKR 65.99 lac for the 1.6L and PKR 71.30 lac for the 2.0L variant. This is a globally retired 6th-generation model that was replaced by the 7th-generation Elantra in March 2020. The locally assembled Elantra may not appear to be a bad deal in terms of features and equipment when compared to other locally available sedans, but sales haven’t been as strong as they once were in Pakistan when compared to other Hyundai models. We will have to wait to see the impact of the ‘free registration’ offer on Elantra sales.
