JAC T9 Hunter Booking Closed in Pakistan – What’s Next?

Ghandhara Automobiles Limited (GAL) introduced the JAC T9 Hunter in Pakistan last week. The double-cabin pickup truck gained a lot of attention due to its striking looks, impressive list of features & equipment, and, above all, its price which significantly undercuts the competition.

Now, however, the company has announced on its social media handles that it will temporarily close the booking, citing an ‘overwhelming response.’ The notification reads:

Due to the overwhelming response and trust you’ve shown in the JAC T9 Hunter, we are temporarily closing new bookings by COB (close of business) January 15th, 2025, to ensure timely deliveries and maintain our commitment to excellence.

Your incredible support has exceeded all expectations, and we are truly humbled. Thank you for your patience and unwavering trust as we work tirelessly to deliver on our promise.

JAC T9 Hunter: A Comprehensive Overview

The JAC T9 Hunter impresses with its bold design, featuring a large piano black mesh grille, sleek headlights with DRLs, fog lamps, LED headlamps, and a diffuser-style bumper with integrated parking sensors. Matte grey and piano black accents add to its rugged appeal. The side profile features 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, side black claddings, chrome door handles, and silver roof rails. At the rear, there are LED tail lamps, large Hunter badging, reversing camera, and parking sensors.

The interior combines luxury with functionality, featuring a 10.4-inch infotainment screen, push-start ignition, wireless charging, electric seat adjustments, and single-zone climate control. A rotary gear knob, drive mode selector, and practical controls enhance the user experience. Rear seats are moderately comfortable with AC vents, USB ports, a 220V socket, and LED lights, though long journeys may feel less ideal. It is worth noting that the T9 Hunter is the only vehicle in its class to come equipped with a sunroof, setting it apart from its competitors.

Under the hood, there is a 2.0L turbo diesel engine producing 168 hp of power and 410 Nm torque. Power is transmitted to the wheels via an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission paired with a 4×4 drivetrain, delivering seamless power transfer and multiple driving modes for optimal performance across various terrains.

The safety features include 4 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, Front Collision Mitigation, a 360-degree camera, lane assist, and rear parking sensors. Priced at Rs. 9,750,000, the JAC T9 Hunter delivers an appealing combination of style, advanced features, and value in Pakistan’s pickup truck market.

What’s Next?

With the T9 Hunter’s booking now closed, reportedly due to an overwhelming response, questions arise about whether this reflects genuine high demand or a strategic move to artificially enhance the vehicle’s perceived desirability. So far there is no information on when the bookings will resume. However, as highlighted by the company CEO during the launch ceremony, the PKR 97.5 lac is an introductory price, making it highly likely that prices will increase once bookings resume.
