Following a long series of spy shots, speculative renderings & teasers, the all-new Kia K4 has made its world debut, underlining the South Korean automaker’s interest in sedans, the craze for which has been replaced by crossovers in recent years.
Although technical & performance details have not been revealed, Kia has shared full photos of its new compact sedan, which will make its public appearance on March 27 at the New York Auto Show.
The all-new K4, which is meant to replace the Cerato/ Forte sedan is radically different from its predecessors inside & out. Overall, the new K4 appears to be larger than the Cerato/ Forte it replaces, featuring sharp lines on the pronounced fenders, sleeker LED lighting units extending to the bumpers, and a streamlined fastback-style silhouette with what appears to be an overly complex rear pillar design. The handles for the rear doors have been incorporated into the pillar where the quarter glass is significantly larger than what the Cerato/ Forte had. The slender LED tail lights at the back extend vertically down the side profile.
Inside, the design is a mix of modern elements such as the double-D-cut multi-function steering, and dual-screen setup blended with traditional old-school controls to adjust the climate settings and the volume, along with shortcuts for navigation, media, and other often-used functions. Above the door handle on the driver’s side are buttons for the heated and ventilated front seat as well as the heated steering wheel. The front passenger also has a three-stage heated and ventilated seat.
More details will be available by next week when the all-new K4 makes its public debut at the 2024 NY Auto Show. The sedan will go on sale starting from the North American markets later this year and will begin reaching other global markets thereafter.
