After making a highly successful debut in India, the all new Kia Sonet has been launched in Indonesian market. Available in 6 variants, the crossover is priced between IDR 193 million (PKR 21.74 lac) and IDR 289 million (PKR 32.42 lac).

Powering the Indonesian-spec Sonet is the lone 1.5L engine producing 115hp ad 144Nm paired to either a 6-speed manual or CVT gearbox with 8 virtual ratios. There are multiple drive modes available including Snow, Mud and Sand in addition to the Normal, Eco and Sport modes.

In terms of appearance the Sonet remains exactly the same inside & out as seen in India. Exterior highlights include LED headlamps with DRLs, roof rails, black claddings & wheel arches, power sunroof, rear windshield wiper, shark fin antenna & 16” alloys.

Inside there is an 8-inch floating infotainment system featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while additional features include a flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel and ventilated seats– the first in the class. Other features include 7-speaker Bose sound system, wireless Smartphone charger with cooling pad, LED ambient lighting that synchronizes with the music & USB port for rear passengers etc.

Safety equipment includes 6 airbags and VSC (vehicle stability control) as standard plus ABS with EBD, traction control system, brake assist, reversing camera with guide lines, and passive cruise control. The Sonet is another Kia model that was originally designed for the Indian market, but just like Seltos, it will become a global model.
