For Vietnam, the Lynk & Co. 09 features a 2.0L turbocharged inline four-cylinder petrol engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid system that serves up 215 hp (160 kW) of power and 325 Nm of torque. All-wheel drive is standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission giving 09 the ability to reach a top speed of 215 km/h. The up-spec variant gets a similar setup but with higher power outputs of 251 hp (187 kW) and 349 Nm for a top speed of 230 km/h.

Given that the company’s vehicles are currently left-hand drive, Lynk & Co’s pick of Vietnam as its debut Southeast Asian market makes sense. The company also stated in a press release that its next destination in the region will be the Philippines (another LHD country). However, its parent company, Geely, has previously stated an interest in using Proton’s Tanjung Malim facility in Malaysia as a production hub to build Lynk & Co models for right-hand drive markets.
