Maruti Suzuki India Limited has surpassed the 2.5 million vehicle export milestone. The achievement came after the company achieved record exports in 2022 with more than 260,000 vehicles shipped globally.

The company entered the export market with minor shipments to Bangladesh and Nepal in 1986. Then in September 1987, Hungary received its first significant shipment of 500 automobiles. In order to consistently raise the caliber of the goods and services offered in the Indian market, Maruti used exports to the developed markets to evaluate its performance against international standards.
Maruti since then, has gradually increased its footprint abroad with assistance from its parent firm, Suzuki Motor Corporation. Today, Maruti Suzuki exports to over 100 countries & regions with the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, and Africa as its key export markets. Speaking on the milestone Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited said:
