MG Drops Hector & Hector Plus Prices in India by INR 1.37 Lac

MG Motor India has reduced the prices of the Hector and Hector Plus SUVs by up to INR 1.29 lac and INR 1.37 lac, respectively. The decision was made in response to the sluggish sales of these two variants. To put the discount into perspective, the price drop ranges between PKR 4.53 lac and PKR 4.81 lac.

Following the latest price revision, the Hector range starts at INR 14.73 lac for the Style Petrol MT variant and INR 17.99 lac for the Shine Diesel MT variant. The price of the top-spec Savvy Pro Petrol CVT variant has been reduced by Rs 66,000 and it now costs INR 21.73 lac. The top-spec Sharp Pro Diesel MT costs INR 21.51 lac (ex-showroom), rendering a price cut of INR 1.21 lac.

The base Hector Plus costs INR 17.50 lac, which is Rs 50,000 less, while the base diesel variant costs INR 19.76 lac, a price cut of Rs 1.04 lac. The Savvy Pro Petrol CVT variant costs INR 22.43 lac, while the top-spec diesel trim is priced at INR 22.21 lac (ex-showroom).

The MG Hector and Hector Plus SUVs are available with two engine options. These include a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine producing 141 hp and 250 Nm and a 2.0L diesel unit that puts out 168 hp and 350 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and CVT.

MG Hector used to be one of the top sellers in the Indian market, but after receiving a facelift earlier this year, that added a ton of additional features to an already extensive list of amenities, the price of Hector was sharply raised, which ultimately impacted its sales. With this massive price reduction, MG hopes to regain the lost sales momentum.
