Car prices in Pakistan continue to leap up as MG Motors has now announced an increase in the price of its HS Essence crossover— so far it’s only locally assembled product in the country.
In the price increase circular, MG said despite extensive currency devaluation, it hasn’t increased the price of MG HS Essence since its launch in 2022. However, the price increase is now inevitable due to the imposition of an 18% sales tax in addition to the forex impact.
With an increase of Rs 13.0 lac, the MG HS Essence is now available for Rs 81.99 lac applicable on all new orders with deliveries from April 2023 onward. However, for customers with a delivery time of February/ March 2023, the price (after an increase of Rs 100,000) is Rs 69.99 lac.
After MG, other auto assemblers are likely to announce their price revisions soon. Stay tuned to CarSpiritPK for more information on the local auto sector.
