Earlier it was the new Kia Sportage that was seen testing on the local roads, but it appears Kia is bringing more new cars to their lineup as the new generation Sorento was also spotted alongside the Sportage. The camouflaged test mules were undergoing vigorous testing and were seen in the Abbottabad region.

As per reports, there are other new Kia cars in the pipeline too but so far the new Sportage and new Sorento seem to be on priority. If all goes well, the launch can be expected towards the second half of the year 2025.

Kia was being heavily criticized for selling globally obsolete cars in Pakistan as sparing Sorento, the entire local product range consists of globally retired cars such as the 4th-gen Sportage, 2nd-gen Picanto, and 3rd-gen Sorento. Now, however, Kia seems interested in uplifting the product range to counter the challenging sales situation in the country.
These new models will likely be CKD assembled in Pakistan, and the possibility of hybrid variants cannot be dismissed—especially considering the surge in hybrid offerings by competitors, as highlighted at the 2024 PAPS show.
