According to Japanese media reports, Suzuki is planning to unveil the next generation Vitara in October this year. BestCarWeb.jp has also come up with a speculative rendering on how the upcoming Vitara will look like.

Suzuki intends to make new 5th gen Vitara look even sportier than the current model. The rendered image features large radiator grille and revised headlamps with LED DRLs, a higher beltline and a more steeply-angled back glass.
According to reports, the next-gen Suzuki Vitara will be bigger than the existing model, which measures 4,175 mm in length, 1,775 mm in width and 1,610 mm in height. The new one is expected to be 4,200 mm long, 1,780 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall. It might retain the 2,500 mm wheelbase while the platform it will sit on, will likely be a revised version of that of its predecessor’s.

The interior is also likely to receive a major upgrade whereas the powertrain options will include naturally aspirated 1.6L as well as turbocharged 1.4L assisted by Suzuki’s 48V mild-hybrid system.
The current generation Vitara made its debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show while Suzuki introduced the Vitara facelift at the 2018 Paris Motor Show commemorating its 30th anniversary since the Vitara was first introduced back in 1988. The next generation Suzuki Vitara is expected to go on sale in 2021.
