D60 is a rather good looking mini SUV offered by FAW in China as well as few export markets. Placed under the ‘Junpai’ sub-brand which is meant to cater the budget buyers, D60 is priced from RMB 64,900 (equivalent PKR 10 lac) up to RMB 99,900 (equivalent PKR 15.5 lac).
Measuring 4170x1765x1625mm with a wheelbase of 2557mm, the D60 is available with two petrol-powered four-cylinder engines: a 1.5 with 102hp and 135nm, and a 1.8 with 139hp and 170nm, both mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Standard equipment include Driver & Passenger Airbags, ABS with EBD & Brake Assist, front & rear fog lights, multi-function tilt/ slide steering wheel, central locking with remote, air conditioning, power windows, power mirrors, 16” alloy wheels, 4 speakers, Mp3/ USB/ Aux connectivity and rear windshield wiper etc.

Small SUVs are getting popular among people of Pakistan, however most of these options are out of the reach of many. With a price tag around PKR 16 lac, the D60 can do good in our market if FAW plans to launch the vehicle here. Keep in mind that the 1.5 liter engine (CA4GA5) is FAW’s self developed unit while the 1.8 liter engine is Toyota 2ZR (licensed) which is the same available with Corolla Altis here.

Offering the likes of D60, in the segments never touched by the Japanese trio, FAW can definitely capture a good market with a wide variety of vehicles ranging from V2 hatchback, B30 sedan, D60 SUV and the Sirius S80 MPV.
