In wake of the upcoming stringent safety regulations in India, Maruti has updated the Suzuki Celerio and its crossover variant the Celerio X with new safety equipment for the Indian market.
The duo will now get ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, driver and passenger seatbelt reminder as well as speed alert system to meet the upcoming safety regulations. These set of equipment will be offered as standard across all variants. The driver airbag was already a standard feature on the offering though.
Apart from the new safety features, the Celerio and the Celerio X get no other changes. Both the vehicles are powered by the same 1.0-liter K-Series, three-cylinder engine good for 67 hp of power and 90 Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as well as optional AMT. The Celerio also comes with a factory-fitted CNG option.
