Suzuki New Cultus (Celerio) First look and Test Drive

Alright so the Cultus was officially launched on last Saturday at Avari hotel but the dealerships didn’t open their doors for display until the next day. So we took our shooting equipment and hurried off to the nearest Suzuki Dealership.

They had 3 units on display, all VXL variants. So we started checking it out and we did found out a few things where Pak Suzuki really could have cranked it up a notch considering they’re charging a whopping 13.91 lacs. We then moved on to see the exterior and to be honest, yes it looks somewhat “new” but the back didn’t impress much, and if you look at it from the back, the thin tyres, the bumper without any mudflaps and the not-so-impressive taillights add up to an unimpressive I mean comparing it to a FAW V2 and even the old Cultus, both of them give somewhat more stylish impression.

They even let us give it a go and we own a FAW V2 so it was fun comparing the drive quality to V2. So the gear knob was positioned relatively high and I really liked that though the seats could have been a little better in a car this expensive. Throttle response at low speeds was better than the old Cultus. Okay, I’m not going to give it all away here, wanna know more? Why don’t you go ahead and see it for yourself?

Our final conclusion was, yes overall a good car but it’s just too much a small car, and it’s not like it’s impossible to give this much in less price, Al-Haj FAW is already giving all these basic features in V2 in a price that’s much much more suitable to our consumer. Before the launch we thought this would definitely affect V2’s sales but they they went on and priced it at 13.91 lac, so now it doesn’t feel like they’re trying to compete at all with the V2.
