Khurram, Every car is a “consumer centric car”. You don’t think a company makes a car and says “This is what I make and you better buy it”. 🤣 That is why even in the middle east, an area dominated by US and Jap cars, people are moving towards new Brands from China. Again, because they are “Consumer Centric”. I.e., Offering what the people want.

Any car can be modified by people with the required skills and “re-evolved as per changed needs”. Not to forget that using that gearbox is just more wear and tear and more energy lost. Electric motors provide instant powerful torque which will wear out the transmission quicker.

This is also mostly why electric conversions of ICE vehicles doesn’t happen a lot. Unless you’re using the motor unit and batteries from Tesla; which has no gearbox system and connects the motors directly to the axles of the wheels, it is just cumbersome and can bring more problems instead of mitigating it.

If the average light pickup truck uses 15L/100km, the fuel economy is only 6.67 km/L, it is way tooo low, unless he is comparing it with a standard LCV 2WD IMV-III Hilux, which is a light pickup truck in North American terms but in no way matches the body dimensions, ground clearance, load rating & tow rating of a 10th gen Corolla.

On the flipside we have Toyota itself which made an EV which keeps on shedding its wheels for some reason which Toyota STILL has not identified. Or (pure Speculation here) Toyota HAS identified the problem but is too embarrassed to make that info public. On top of that Toyota is now asking BYD to make its sedan EV. As in start to finish. The whole car. With NO technical input from Toyota what so ever. 🤦‍♂️

Whatever the case may be, Toyota should fire its entire EV department and hire these guys. Maybe they will finally get to make some EVs. 🤷‍♂️

P.S. The tenth generation was more decent looking than 11th generation.
